Clicking “Add to Favorites” Causes Error “The parameter is incorrect”

When you right-click on file and click “Add to Favorites” on a Windows 11 system, the following error may appear.

The parameter is incorrect.

Resolution

Resetting the favorites database should fix the issue.

Close all folders. Open a Command Prompt window and run these commands:

cd /d "%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\automaticdestinations"
del /a 5f7b5f1e01b83767.automaticDestinations-ms

(If you get any errors, post a screenshot.)

This should reset the Favorites.
