In Windows 11 24H2 and later, WMIC is not installed by default but is available as a Feature On Demand (FoD) component that can be installed via Settings or DISM. However, installing WMIC or any other FoD via Settings or DISM requires internet access. If you have a standalone Windows 11 PC without internet access and need to enable Windows Management Instrumentation Command-line (WMIC), this article is for you.
Install WMIC Offline in Windows 11
Please download the Windows 11 24H2/25H2 FOD ISO from the Microsoft link below. If the subject PC doesn’t have internet access, download the ISO using another PC.
26100.1.240331-1435.ge_release_amd64fre_CLIENT_LOF_PACKAGES_OEM.iso - FOD ISO for Windows 11 24H2/25H2.
Download the ISO and mount it. Suppose the drive letter is F:. Open Command Prompt (admin), run this command to install WMIC:
DISM /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:WMIC~~~~ /source:"F:\LanguagesAndOptionalFeatures" /limitaccess
Restart Windows.
