Task View Window “New Desktop” Button Missing in Windows 10

Windows 10 introduces a feature wherein you can create multiple virtual desktops by clicking the Task View icon and clicking the New Desktop (+) symbol.

If the "New Desktop" option is missing in your system, then your system is probably in Tablet mode. Also in Tablet mode, the desktop icons aren’t shown, Start page is shown full screen, and the back button appears in your Taskbar. So, if you’re wondering where your Recycle bin icon has gone, first check if you’re in Tablet mode. For more information on Tablet mode, see Use your PC like a tablet – Windows Help.

To turn off Tablet mode, click the Action Center icon in the Notification area and turn off the Tablet mode button (toggle)
