Remove “3D Print with 3D Builder” Right-Click Menu Option in Windows 10

The Windows 10 Redstone build adds 3D Print with 3D Builder option to the right-click menu for image file types. This option remains in the context menu even if you uninstall 3D Builder, and clicking “3D Print with 3D Builder” in the right-click menu would reinstall 3D Builder app automatically. If you don’t use 3D builder, here is how to remove the context menu entry.

remove 3d builder context menu

Click Start, type Regedit.exe and press ENTER. Go to the following keys, export each key to a separate REG file and then delete the keys.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.bmp\Shell\T3D Print
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.jpg\Shell\T3D Print
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.png\Shell\T3D Print

REG files

To automate the above, download 3d_builder_entry_remove.zip, unzip and run the enclosed REG files from an administrator login. To add the entry back, run the other “add” REG file which is also enclosed.
