When you type a letter in the Run dialog (WinKey + R), the AutoComplete feature may not work (the drop-down box may not be displayed). However, when you hold the ALT key and press the DOWN arrow, the Run history is displayed correctly in a drop-down box.
Follow these steps to enable the drop down AutoComplete drop-down functionality to the Run dialog.
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click Tools, Internet Options
3. Select the Content tab
4. Under AutoComplete, click Settings
5. Place a checkmark near Web addresses
6. Click OK, OK.
This enables the AutoComplete drop-down feature to the Run dialog.
