Symptom

When you right click on a file system object and choose Send To, the entry Desktop (create shortcut) may be missing.

Resolution

This happens if the file Desktop (create shortcut).DeskLink is missing from the SendTo folder for your user account. Use one of the following methods to recreate the missing file, and the corresponding Send To menu entry.

Method 1

• Click Start, Run and type:

regsvr32 sendmail.dll

• Press Enter

Method 2

• Click Start, Run and type:

shell:sendto

• Create a new file named Desktop (create shortcut).DeskLink in that folder

Method 3

• Click Start, Run and type the following and press Enter:

%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\Default User\SendTo

• Copy the file named Desktop (create shortcut) to the following folder in your user profile:

%userprofile%\SendTo

(Type the above in Start, Run dialog to launch the folder)
