Error "The specified module could not be found" while using the User Accounts applet

Symptoms

When you open the User Accounts applet in the Control Panel, and click the Change the way users log on or off option, one of the following error messages may appear:

The specified module could not be found.

Automation server can't create object

After clicking OK, the Select logon and logoff options dialog may open correctly.

Resolution

To resolve the problem, download the following VBScript and save to Desktop. Then double-click the file to run it. If the script advises you to download Windows Script 5.6 from Microsoft site, then you can download it from Microsoft download site.

Important: Your Anti-Virus program or script blocker may show a general warning screen when you run a script. This script is not malicious, and you may allow the script to run. If you want to view what the script does, then open the file using Notepad to see the contents.
