Unable to open fax messages present in the "Sent Items" folder?

Symptom
When you open the "Sent Items" folder in Windows XP Fax Console and double-click an item, it may not open in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
Resolution
This may happen after installing a third-party image viewer (Example: Adobe Photoshop, ThumbsPlus, IrfanView etc.) To resolve the problem, fix the file association for .TIF files.
Click Start, Run and execute these commands:
- CMD /C ASSOC .TIF=TIFImage.Document
- regsvr32 shimgvw.dll
If that does not help, you may use the utility discussed in this page. Now the TIF images are associated with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
