Symptom

When you open the System Information utility (MSINFO32) and select the Startup Programs option under Software Environment section, the right pane may show the list of entire files present in the System32 folder, rather than displaying the list of startup applications.

Resolution

Download the following Zip file and save to Desktop. Unzip the file and extract the VBScript file (FixMSINFOStartup.vbs) to the Desktop. Then double-click the file FixMSINFOStartup.vbs to run it.

Important: If you have any script blockers installed, allow this script to run. In order to view the code, you may open the file with Notepad or any other text editor.
