Removing unwanted AutoPlay Handlers in Windows XP and WindowsVistaPublished: July 30, 2004
CleanHandlers - AutoPlay cleanup utility
When you right-click a CD drive or any removable drive and choose Properties, the AutoPlay tab lists all the AutoPlay Handlers for each Event. In some cases, an orphaned entry might appear there, as a result of incomplete uninstall of a software (such as Music match Jukebox, Nikon View etc). CleanHandlers helps you remove the invalid entries from the listing. In addition, this utility can find invalid AutoPlay entries (see Note #1 and #2 below) and also remove them automatically.
(For Windows XP and Windows Vista systems)
You may use this utility in the following situations
A junk entry appears in the AutoPlay window, sub-titled as <need provider> ( Fig 1)
Select an action to perform box is completely blank for an event (Fig 2)
To remove unwanted entries from the AutoPlay window.
|Delete||Deletes the chosen Autoplay handler|
|Refresh||Refreshes the list of Autoplay handlers|
|Scan||Scan for invalid Autoplay handers and creates a report|
|Scan and Fix invalid entries||Fixes invalid Autoplay handlers automatically. Registry backup is done before fixing the entries.|
