This causes all other applications (except that application window) to minimize automatically. This feature is available in Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions of Windows 7.<\/p>\n<p>If Aero Shake has stopped working on your PC all of a sudden and you&#8217;ve tried running the <a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/976170\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aero Troubleshooter<\/a>, here are some other things that you can try.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> If you had disabled the Aero Snap (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/enable-and-disable-aero-snap-docking-windows-7\/\">automatic window docking<\/a>) feature recently, Aero Shake gets disabled too.<\/p>\n<h2>Enable Aero Snap and Aero Shake<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Click Start, type <b>dock<\/b> in the Search box.<\/li>\n<li>Click <b>Turn off automatic window arrangement<\/b> in search results.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/archived\/w7-aero-shake-2.png\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Uncheck the option named: <b>Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/archived\/w7-aero-shake-1.png\" \/><br \/>\n<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Click <b>OK<\/b> and then close the Control Panel.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This enables Aero Snap and Aero Shake. If the &#8220;shake&#8221; feature still doesn&#8217;t work, you may need to check if it&#8217;s been disabled by a Policy setting, just in case if someone may have enabled the setting via the registry or a third-party program.<\/p>\n<h2>Disabling the Aero Shake Policy Setting<\/h2>\n<p><b>Using the Registry Editor<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click Start, type <code>regedit.exe<\/code> and click OK.\n<pre>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Policies\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Explorer<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to the following branch:<\/li>\n<li>Delete the value named <code>NoWindowMinimizingShortcuts<\/code><\/li>\n<li>Exit the Registry Editor.<\/li>\n<li>Logoff and log back in.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Using the Group Policy Editor<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Before you proceed, understand that the Group Policy Editor is only available in Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise Editions of Windows 7.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click Start, type <code>gpedit.msc<\/code><b>,<\/b> and click OK.<\/li>\n<li>Go to the following branch:\n<pre>User Configuration &rarr; Administrative Templates &rarr; Desktop<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Double-click <b>Turn off Aero Shake window minimizing mouse gesture<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Set it to <b>Disabled<\/b>, and click <b>Apply<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Set it to <b>Not configured<\/b>, and click <b>OK<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Exit the Group Policy Editor.<\/li>\n<li>Logoff and log back in.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Aero Shake is a feature introduced in Windows 7 using which you can minimize all other open windows, by clicking on the title bar of an application and shaking it using the mouse.
