In some systems, the Extended view may appear blank, as in the figure below:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-19849\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/services-mmc-extended-blank-1.png\" alt=\"services mmc extended view is blank\" width=\"700\" height=\"314\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s see how to fix this issue. The instructions apply to all versions of Windows, including Windows 10.<\/p>\n<h2>[Fix] Services MMC Extended View is Blank in Windows<\/h2>\n<p>To fix the &#8220;Extended&#8221; view pane in the Services console, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1: Register JScript.dll and Mmcndmgr.dll<\/h3>\n<p>Run these commands from an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/open-elevated-command-prompt-windows\/\">admin Command Prompt<\/a>:<\/p>\n<pre>regsvr32.exe\u00a0 jscript.dll\r\n\r\nregsvr32.exe\u00a0 mmcndmgr.dll<\/pre>\n<p>You should see the output <em>&#8220;DllRegisterServer in .dll succeeded.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Step 2: Enable Active Scripting for the local machine zone<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Start the Registry Editor (<code>regedit.exe<\/code>)<\/li>\n<li>Go to the following branches:\n<pre>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Internet Settings\\Zones\\0\r\n\r\nHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Internet Settings\\Zones\\0<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Double-click the value named <code>1400<\/code> (if exists in the above locations), and set its data to <code>0<\/code>.\n<div class=\"newline\"><em>The value <code>1400<\/code> corresponds to Active Scripting, and Zone <code>0<\/code> represents the local computer zone. Setting 1400 value data to 0 enables Active Scripting. Here are the possible values:<\/em><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>0 &#8211; The feature (Active Scripting) is enabled, which is the default setting.<\/li>\n<li>1 &#8211; Show a prompt.<\/li>\n<li>3 &#8211; Disable Active Scripting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"newline\"><em>For more information, refer to the Microsoft article <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-in\/help\/182569\/internet-explorer-security-zones-registry-entries-for-advanced-users\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Internet Explorer security zones registry entries for advanced users<\/a>.<\/em><\/div>\n<div class=\"newline\"><em>If the value <code>1400<\/code> exists in both locations above, the one in HKEY_CURRENT_USER takes precedence by default. The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE takes precedence only if the <strong>Security Zones: Use only machine settings setting<\/strong> in Group Policy is enabled, or if the <code>Security_HKLM_only<\/code> DWORD value is set to <code>1<\/code> in the registry.<\/em><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Exit the Registry Editor.<\/li>\n<li>Close and re-open Services MMC.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-19850\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/services-mmc-extended-blank-2.png\" alt=\"services mmc extended view is blank\" width=\"700\" height=\"314\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This fixes the Extended view in Services MMC.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Extended view of the Services Management Console (services.msc) displays the service description and also has links to start or stop services.
