Your personal files and image sources collection shouldn&#8217;t be affected.<\/li>\n<li>Open the Photos app reconfigure the settings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Step 2: Uninstall &amp; Reinstall the Photos app<\/h3>\n<p>Start PowerShell\u00a0as administrator.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/w10\/w10-photos-reinstall.png\" alt=\"package could not be registered - photos app\" width=\"380\" height=\"272\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Run the following command in the PowerShell console:<\/p>\n<pre>Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.Photos | Remove-AppxPackage<\/pre>\n<p>This uninstalls the Photos app.<\/p>\n<p>To <strong>reinstall Photos<\/strong>, run the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.Windows.Photos | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register \"$($_.InstallLocation)\\AppXManifest.xml\"}<\/pre>\n<p><em>(Refer to the article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/reinstall-photos-app-windows-10\/\">How to Reinstall the Photos App in Windows 10<\/a>? for more information.)<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Still doesn&#8217;t help?<\/h3>\n<p>If the above steps don&#8217;t help, try the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Follow the procedure listed under <strong>Step 3: Uninstall Photos, Remove Leftover Files and Reinstall<\/strong> in the article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/photos-store-apps-file-system-error-2147219196\/\">File System Error 2147219196 in Photos or Other Store Apps<\/a>. The mentioned procedure resets your Photos app data store completely. Your personal files, images won&#8217;t be affected.<\/li>\n<li>Run the <code>DISM \/restorehealth<\/code> and <code>Sfc \/scannow<\/code> commands to repair system files and component store corruption if any.
