We saw how to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/safekeep-windows-spotlight-images-windows-10-app-scripts\/\">save the lock screen wallpapers<\/a> using various methods, including a scripting method.<\/p>\n<p>This post tells you how to save Windows Spotlight images to a folder and use it as the wallpaper source for desktop slideshow in your account.<\/p>\n<h2>How to Use Windows Spotlight as Desktop Wallpaper Slideshow?<\/h2>\n<p>The procedure to set Windows Spotlight images as desktop wallpaper slideshow, you need to first collect the spotlight images and then set the background option to slideshow in Personalize settings. Let&#8217;s use a VBScript with Task Scheduler to collect Windows Spotlight lock screen images to a folder on a daily basis.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1: Create VBScript file that copies the Spotlight images<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/spotlight-collect-script-folder.png\" alt=\"Use Windows Spotlight as Desktop Wallpaper Slideshow\" width=\"292\" height=\"90\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9563\" \/>Make a VBScript using the code provided in the article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/safekeep-windows-spotlight-images-windows-10-app-scripts\/#script\">Save Windows Spotlight wallpapers<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Name the script file as <code>spotlight_collect.vbs<\/code> and save to a folder &#8212; e.g., <code>d:\\tools\\spotlight_collect.vbs<\/code><\/p>\n<h3>Step 2: Create a Scheduled Task that runs the script<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Open an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/open-elevated-command-prompt-windows\/\">admin Command Prompt<\/a> window and type:\n<pre>SCHTASKS \/create \/SC HOURLY \/MO 6 \/TN \"Save Spotlight Images\" \/TR \"wscript.exe d:\\tools\\spotlight_collect.vbs\"<\/pre>\n<p>This creates a scheduled task that will run the script every 6 hours, indefinitely.<\/p>\n<p>You should see the message <strong><em>SUCCESS: The scheduled task &#8220;Save Spotlight Images&#8221; has successfully been created.<\/em><\/strong> after running the command.<\/p>\n<p>A new task appears in the Task Scheduler window.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9395\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/scheduler-spotlight-wallpaper-task.png\" alt=\"Use Windows Spotlight as Desktop Wallpaper Slideshow\" width=\"701\" height=\"208\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Then, in the Command Prompt, run the following command to start the task. Your desktop background slideshow will use your Windows Spotlight collection folder as the source.<\/p>\n<h3>Using Dynamic Theme app from Microsoft Store<\/h3>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t want to collect Spotlight images and use it as desktop slideshow, you can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/p\/dynamic-theme\/9nblggh1zbkw?activetab=pivot%3Aoverviewtab\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Dynamic Theme<\/a> app from Microsoft Store to set Windows Spotlight or Bing images as your desktop wallpaper or slideshow. Dynamic Theme app downloads images from Microsoft Spotlight and Bing servers directly.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/dynamic-theme-1.png\" alt=\"spotlight image as desktop wallpaper - bing images - dynamic theme\" width=\"701\" height=\"331\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9658\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dynamic Theme can set your desktop background or lock screen image with daily Bing or Windows Spotlight pictures, one Bing or Windows Spotlight picture or personal pictures. It lets you save daily Windows Spotlight or daily Bing images in a folder of your choice.
