{"id":903,"date":"2009-06-07T12:23:01","date_gmt":"2009-06-07T06:53:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/198.58.113.91\/blog\/?p=903"},"modified":"2021-05-24T20:27:47","modified_gmt":"2021-05-24T14:57:47","slug":"fix-cannot-change-connected-state-of-office-add-ins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/fix-cannot-change-connected-state-of-office-add-ins\/","title":{"rendered":"Fix: Cannot Change the Connected State of Registered Office Add-Ins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When you attempt to enable or disable an Office Add-In, the following error message may be displayed and the Add-In state does not change.<!--more--><\/p>\n<pre class=\"err\">The connected state of Office Add-Ins registered in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE cannot be changed.<\/pre>\n<p>This happens if the Office application you&#8217;re using is running under standard privileges and hence cannot modify the Add-In startup state in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry hive.<\/p>\n<p>To resolve the problem, start the Office application elevated. To do so, right-click on the Office application shortcut and choose <b>Run as Administrator<\/b>.
