It&#8217;s the <b>Image Resizer<\/b> utility written by <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/bricelam\/ImageResizer\/releases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofolow noreferrer\">Brice Lambson<\/a>. This utility is similar to Microsoft&#8217;s Image Resizer PowerToy for Windows XP. And Brice Lambson&#8217;s utility works fine in all versions of Windows, including Windows 10.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9717\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/resize-images-right-click-menu-advanced-4.png\" alt=\"resize images right-click menu\" width=\"384\" height=\"337\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"qt\">\n<p><strong>2020 Update:<\/strong> The Image Resizer utility is integrated into the Microsoft Windows 10 PowerToys project. Although Brice Lambson&#8217;s software works in all versions of Windows, the Windows PowerToy one supports only Windows 10. For legacy systems, you can download Brice&#8217;s software <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/bricelam\/ImageResizer\/releases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">from here<\/a>. Here are the screenshots of Brice Lamson&#8217;s version of the software:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/resize-images-right-click-menu-advanced-1.png\" alt=\"resize images right-click menu\" width=\"384\" height=\"337\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9719\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/resize-images-right-click-menu-advanced-2.png\" alt=\"resize images right-click menu\" width=\"384\" height=\"337\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9718\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/resize-images-right-click-menu-advanced-3.png\" alt=\"resize images right-click menu\" width=\"384\" height=\"337\" \/>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9717\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/resize-images-right-click-menu-advanced-4.png\" alt=\"resize images right-click menu\" width=\"384\" height=\"337\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Resize Images via the Right-click menu in Windows 10<\/h2>\n<p>Download and Install <b>Image Resizer<\/b> (part of Microsoft PowerToys) from this <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/microsoft\/PowerToys\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">GitHub<\/a> page.\u00a0This program adds the <b>Resize pictures<\/b> command to the right-click menu for image file types.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9715\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/resize-images-right-click-menu-1.png\" alt=\"resize images right-click menu\" width=\"424\" height=\"307\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The resize dialog lists four preset options and also allows you to choose a custom setting where you can specify the output file dimensions:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9716\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/resize-images-right-click-menu-4.png\" alt=\"resize images right-click menu\" width=\"352\" height=\"343\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Resize the original pictures (don&#8217;t create copies)<\/strong> option is unchecked by default to prevent accidentally overwriting the source image.<\/p>\n<p>When you choose the custom option, the output files will have the suffix (Custom) &#8212; e.g., <code>hero-image (Custom).jpg<\/code><\/p>\n<div class=\"qt\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6338 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/icotip.gif\" alt=\"tips bulb icon\" width=\"34\" height=\"34\" \/>Tip:<\/strong> When choosing the <strong>Custom<\/strong> option, rather than manually calculating the pixels\/ratio for width or height fields (to preserve the aspect ratio), you may leave one of the fields blank so that the tool automatically resizes the image based on the specified width (or height) mentioned, and maintains the aspect ratio.<\/div>\n<div class=\"rp\"><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/resize-images-photos-app-windows-10\/\">How to Resize Images Using Photos App in Windows 10<\/a><\/div>\n<h3>Image Resizer &#8211; Advanced Options<\/h3>\n<p>To customize the output file name, open Microsoft PowerToys Settings from the Start menu.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17645\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/powertoys-settings-page.png\" alt=\"powertoys settings page\" width=\"840\" height=\"957\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/powertoys-settings-page.png 840w, https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/powertoys-settings-page-768x875.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 840px) 100vw, 840px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Under <strong>Sizes<\/strong>, you can remove or customize the four preset options and add your own options to the list with custom dimensions.\u00a0These sizes mentioned here will show up in the resize pictures dialog&#8217;s pre-configured list.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9716\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/resize-images-right-click-menu-4.png\" alt=\"resize images right-click menu\" width=\"352\" height=\"343\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the PowerToys settings page, under the <strong>File<\/strong> section, you can change the output file name suffix as desired:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17646\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/powertoys-settings-page-2.png\" alt=\"powertoys settings page\" width=\"686\" height=\"561\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For example, setting the parameter to <code>%1 (%3 x %4)<\/code> will result in the image dimensions suffixed with the output file name.
