The full error message is below:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"err\">Error: 0x800f080c\r\n\r\nFeature name NetFX3 is unknown.\r\nA Windows feature name was not recognized.\r\nUse the \/Get-Features option to find the name of the feature in the image and try the command again.\r\n<\/pre>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Also, when you open OptionalFeatures.exe, the .NET Framework 3.5 entry may be missing.<\/p>\n<p>The above error occurs if the .NET Framework 3.5 package has been removed.<\/p>\n<h2>Resolution<\/h2>\n<p>Download the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/windows-10-iso-direct-download-mct-useragent\/\">Windows 10 or 11 ISO<\/a> and double-click it to mount it to a drive letter \u2013 e.g., <strong>G:\\<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Sources\\Sxs&#8221; folder in the ISO contains the CAB file (&#8220;<code>microsoft-windows-netfx3-ondemand-package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~.cab<\/code>&#8220;) needed to install .NET Framework 3.5.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-60127\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/netfx-80070490-cab-iso.png\" alt=\"iso netfx3 cab.\" width=\"580\" height=\"165\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Open an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/open-elevated-command-prompt-windows\/\">admin Command Prompt<\/a> window and run the following command:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">DISM \/Online \/Add-Package \/PackagePath:G:\\Sources\\SxS\\microsoft-windows-netfx3-ondemand-package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~.cab\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>The above command should add the .NET Framework 3.5 package to the computer.<\/p>\n<p>Once done, run the following command to install .NET Framework 3.5.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">DISM \/Online \/Enable-Feature \/FeatureName:NetFX3 \/All \/Source:G:\\sources\\sxs \/LimitAccess\r\n<\/pre>\n<div class=\"rp\"><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/dism-restorehealth-error-0x800f081f-windows-10\/#net_framework_offline\">[Fix] DISM and .NET Framework 3.5 Error 0x800F081F<\/a><\/div>\n<p>The above examples assume the ISO drive letter is G:.
