It fails with the error 0x800F0922.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78599\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/ms-print-pdf-may-2025-lcu-bug.png\" alt=\"print to pdf 0x800f0922 bug in May 2025 Windows 11 quality update.\" width=\"749\" height=\"421\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Internally, the FOD installation process encounters the error <strong>800F024B<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<pre>0x800F024B    SPAPI_E_FILE_HASH_NOT_IN_CATALOG\r\n\r\nThe hash for the file is not present in the specified catalog file. The file is likely corrupt or the victim of tampering.\r\n<\/pre>\n<div class=\"qt\"><em>Note: This article addresses the issue specific to the Windows 11 24H2 May 2025 quality update. The fixes in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/error-0x800f0922-print-pdf-xps-writer\/\">Microsoft Print to PDF Error 0x800f0922<\/a> article may not resolve the issue caused by the May 2025 update.<\/em><\/div>\n<h2>Cause<\/h2>\n<p>It&#8217;s a bug in the May 13, 2025\u2014KB5058411 (OS Build 26100.4061) quality update. This problem arises because Microsoft didn&#8217;t include the hashes for some driver files in the security catalog.<\/p>\n<div class=\"qt\">\n<h4>Update (June 26, 2025)<\/h4>\n<p>Resolution: This issue was resolved by Windows updates released June 26, 2025, and later. We recommend you install the latest update for your device as it contains important improvements and issue resolutions, including this one.\n<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>Resolution<\/h2>\n<p>Here are two ways to fix this.<\/p>\n<h3>Option 1: Revert to build 26100.3775 or earlier<\/h3>\n<p>You can revert to the previous build (26100.3775 or earlier) and install the Microsoft Print to PDF feature. Once done, install the latest quality update (26100.4061). Then, inject the package into the driver store manually. Follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>First, please run the following command from admin Command Prompt to ensure Microsoft Print to PDF is fully removed.\n<pre class=\"cmd\">Dism \/Online \/Disable-Feature \/FeatureName:\"Printing-PrintToPDFServices-Features\"<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Restart Windows.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that the <code><strong>C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\spool\\tools\\Microsoft Print To PDF<\/strong><\/code> folder doesn&#8217;t exist.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Then, do the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Download\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/prnms009.inf_amd64_5555b7fbfa8487e2.zip\">prnms009.inf_amd64_5555b7fbfa8487e2.zip<\/a> and extract it.<\/li>\n<li>Move the &#8220;prnms009.inf_amd64_5555b7fbfa8487e2&#8221; folder to the C:\\ drive&#8217;s root.<\/li>\n<li>Then, open admin Command Prompt and run this command:\n<pre class=\"cmd\">pnputil \/add-driver \"C:\\prnms009.inf_amd64_5555b7fbfa8487e2\\prnms009.Inf\" \/install<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">You should see the following output:<\/span>\n<pre>Total driver packages: 1\r\nAdded driver packages: 1\r\n<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect from the internet.<\/li>\n<li>Now, open OptionalFeatures.exe and enable &#8220;Microsoft Print to PDF&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Restart Windows.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When you try to install the Microsoft Print to PDF feature on a system running Windows 11 24H2 OS build 26100.4061 or 26100.3915, the feature doesn&#8217;t install.
