When you try to install the Microsoft Print to PDF<\/a> feature on a system running Windows 11 24H2 OS build 26100.4061 or 26100.3915, the feature doesn’t install. It fails with the error 0x800F0922.<\/p>\n

Internally, the FOD installation process encounters the error 800F024B<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

0x800F024B    SPAPI_E_FILE_HASH_NOT_IN_CATALOG\r\n\r\nThe hash for the file is not present in the specified catalog file. The file is likely corrupt or the victim of tampering.\r\n<\/pre>\n
Note: This article addresses the issue specific to the Windows 11 24H2 May 2025 quality update. The fixes in the Microsoft Print to PDF Error 0x800f0922<\/a> article may not resolve the issue caused by the May 2025 update.<\/em><\/div>\n
Cause<\/h2>\n
It’s a bug in the May 13, 2025\u2014KB5058411 (OS Build 26100.4061) quality update. This problem arises because Microsoft didn’t include the hashes for some driver files in the security catalog.<\/p>\n

Update (June 26, 2025)<\/h4>\n
Resolution: This issue was resolved by Windows updates released June 26, 2025, and later. We recommend you install the latest update for your device as it contains important improvements and issue resolutions, including this one.\n<\/p><\/div>\n
Resolution<\/h2>\n
Here are two ways to fix this.<\/p>\n
Option 1: Revert to build 26100.3775 or earlier<\/h3>\n
You can revert to the previous build (26100.3775 or earlier) and install the Microsoft Print to PDF feature. Once done, install the latest quality update (26100.4061). It works perfectly fine.<\/p>\n
To uninstall the KB5058411 update, run the following command:<\/p>\n
wusa \/uninstall \/kb:5058411<\/pre>\n

Option 2: Download the MS Print to PDF package<\/h3>\n
Download the MS Print to PDF driver package from the following link or get it from another system running 26100.3775. Then, inject the package into the driver store manually. Follow these steps:<\/p>\n
    \n
  1. First, please run the following command from admin Command Prompt to ensure Microsoft Print to PDF is fully removed.\n
    Dism \/Online \/Disable-Feature \/FeatureName:\"Printing-PrintToPDFServices-Features\"<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n
  2. Restart Windows.<\/li>\n
  3. Make sure that the C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\spool\\tools\\Microsoft Print To PDF<\/strong><\/code> folder doesn’t exist.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    Then, do the following:<\/p>\n
      \n
    1. Download\u00a0prnms009.inf_amd64_5555b7fbfa8487e2.zip<\/a> and extract it.<\/li>\n
    2. Move the “prnms009.inf_amd64_5555b7fbfa8487e2” folder to the C:\\ drive’s root.<\/li>\n
    3. Then, open admin Command Prompt and run this command:\n
      pnputil \/add-driver \"C:\\prnms009.inf_amd64_5555b7fbfa8487e2\\prnms009.Inf\" \/install<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n
    4. You should see the following output:<\/span>\n
      Total driver packages: 1\r\nAdded driver packages: 1\r\n<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n
    5. Disconnect from the internet.<\/li>\n
    6. Now, open OptionalFeatures.exe and enable “Microsoft Print to PDF”.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
