When you open Control Panel \u2192 System and Security \u2192 System, the processor and RAM fields may say “Not available”. If you open Settings \u2192 System \u2192 “About”, the CPU or the RAM information may be blank.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the following WMI command from the admin Command Prompt may return the “Invalid Namespace<\/strong>” error:<\/p>\n

c:\\windows\\system32\\wbem\\wmic cpu list \/format:list<\/pre>\n
Cause<\/h2>\n
The above issues occur if the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service is not running or the WMI repository is corrupt.<\/p>\n
Resolution<\/h2>\n
1) Start the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Launch services.msc<\/li>\n
  2. Double-click “Windows Management Instrumentation”<\/li>\n
  3. Set its startup type to “Automatic”.<\/li>\n
  4. Click Start to start the service. Note the errors, if any.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    If the above doesn’t help, proceed further:<\/p>\n
    \n
    2) Reset the WMI repository<\/h3>\n
    Open an admin Command Prompt<\/a> and run this command:<\/p>\n
    winmgmt \/resetrepository<\/pre>\n
    Restart Windows.<\/p>\n
    Now, open the About window and see if the Processor and RAM specs are reported correctly. The WMIC command-line should also work.<\/p>\n
