This occurs when you click on the ellipsis icon (the button with three dots). It&#8217;s supposed to show the dropdown menu instead of upwards. This bug hasn&#8217;t been fixed at least until build 26100.3037.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-77856\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/24h2-menu-upwards-bug.jpg\" alt=\"24h2 bug: menu showing upwards\" width=\"750\" height=\"440\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Cause<\/h2>\n<p>This seems to happen due to the undocumented feature ID 51960011 (FileExplorerTabLineFix) enabled by default in 24H2.<\/p>\n<h2>Workaround<\/h2>\n<p>Until Microsoft fixes this issue in 24H2, you can turn off the feature ID 51960011 to prevent this issue.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Download ViveTools from GitHub: <code>https:\/\/github.com\/thebookisclosed\/ViVe\/releases<\/code><\/li>\n<li>Unzip and extract the contents to a folder &#8211; e.g., <strong>C:\\ViVeTool<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/open-elevated-command-prompt-windows\/\">admin Command Prompt<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Change to the folder that contains ViVeTool.exe. You can do so by running the following command:\n<pre><strong>cd \/d C:\\ViVeTool<\/strong><\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Run the following command:\n<pre><strong>vivetool.exe \/disable \/id:51960011<\/strong><\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Restart Windows.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The ellipsis (&#8220;&#8230;&#8221;) menu should now open downwards.<\/p>\n<p><em>Also, please report this bug in the Feedback Hub (Win + F) so Microsoft can address this issue quickly.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Windows 11 24H2 has a bug wherein the menu shows upwards, thus hidden from the viewport when the window is in a maximized state.
