Available: 4 MB.\r\nInfo    MOUPG  ImageExit: Initializing SetupResult: [0xc1900200]\r\nInfo    MOUPG  ImageExit: Initializing Extended:    [0x20008]\r\n<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/w11-setup-srp-efi-error.png\" alt=\"Error 0xc1900201 When Updating to Windows 11 24H2 - system reserved partition error\" width=\"690\" height=\"549\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-77368\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Also, deleting the optional font files (.ttf) in the EFI folder, as mentioned in the article, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/we-couldnt-update-system-reserved-partition-error-windows-10\/\">&#8220;We couldn&#8217;t update system reserved partition<\/a>\u00a0may not help in some cases.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rp\"><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/hp-bios-update-no-free-space\/\">HP: There is not enough free disk space to complete the System BIOS<\/a><\/div>\n<h2>Cause<\/h2>\n<p>The BIOS update images may consume vast disk space in the EFI partition.<\/p>\n<p>Resizing the EFI partition using a third-party partitioning tool such as MiniTool Partition Wizard, NUIBI, AOMEI, or EaseUS Partition Manager should permanently fix the issue. Alternatively, deleting the font files and BIOS update images will workaround the problem.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rp\"><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/resize-efi-system-partition\/\">How to Resize the EFI System Partition in Windows<\/a><\/div>\n<h2>Resolution<\/h2>\n<h3>Option 1: Resize the EFI System partition<\/h3>\n<p>Please use AOMEI partition manager (free) or a similar software to extend the EFI partition to 200 MB or more. This is a permanent fix for the problem.<\/p>\n<p>See <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/resize-efi-system-partition\/\">How to Resize the EFI System Partition in Windows<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Caution:<\/strong> It&#8217;s highly recommended that the data be backed up to an external drive before modifying the disk layout.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h3>Option 2: Free up the EFI System partition<\/h3>\n<h4>Step 1: Delete unneeded fonts and get the list of big files in the EFI partition<\/h4>\n<p>Please open an admin Command Prompt window and run these commands one by one:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">mountvol Y: \/s\r\n\r\ncd \/d Y:\\EFI\\Microsoft\\Boot\\Fonts\r\n\r\ndel *.ttf\r\n\r\ndir Y:\\\r\n\r\npowershell -command \"GCI Y:\\ -File -Recurse | Sort Length -descending | Select FullName, Length -first 10\"<\/pre>\n<p>The output of the last command will show the top 10 files that consume the most space on the EFI partition.<\/p>\n<p>Freeing up 20 MB of disk space in the EFI partition should resolve the Windows 11 Setup error.<\/p>\n<p>If deleting the .ttf files is not enough, move the BIOS update images as mentioned below.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h4>Step 2: Freeing up additional space on the EFI partition<\/h4>\n<p>You&#8217;ll need to move the BIOS images to a folder on the C drive or another partition.<\/p>\n<h4>For HP systems:<\/h4>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">mountvol Y: \/s\r\n\r\nmd C:\\HP\\BIOS\\Previous\r\n\r\nmd C:\\HP\\HP_DEVFW\r\n\r\ncd \/d Y:\\EFI\\HP\\BIOS\\Previous\r\n\r\nmove *.* C:\\HP\\BIOS\\Previous\\\r\n\r\nrobocopy Y:\\EFI\\HP\\DEVFW C:\\HP\\HP_DEVFW \/MIR\r\n\r\ndel Y:\\EFI\\HP\\DEVFW\\firmware.bin \/a\r\n\r\nDir Y:\\<\/pre>\n<h4>For Dell systems:<\/h4>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">mountvol Y: \/s\r\n\r\nmd C:\\Dell\\BIOS\r\n\r\nMove Y:\\EFI\\Dell\\Bios\\Recovery\\* C:\\Dell\\BIOS\\\r\n\r\ndir Y:\\<\/pre>\n<h4>For ASUS systems<\/h4>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">mountvol Y: \/s\r\n\r\nmd C:\\ASUS\\BIOS\r\n\r\nmove Y:\\*.bin  C:\\ASUS\\BIOS\\\r\n\r\ndir Y:\\<\/pre>\n<h4>For Lenovo systems:<\/h4>\n<p>To do so, on Lenovo systems, run these commands from the admin Command Prompt:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">\r\nmountvol Y: \/s\r\n\r\nmd C:\\Lenovo\\BIOS\r\n\r\ncd \/d Y:\\EFI\\Insyde\r\n\r\nmove isflash.bin C:\\Lenovo\\BIOS\\\r\n\r\ndir Y:\\\r\n<\/pre>\n<div class=\"qt\">\n<h4>Additional note, for Lenovo systems<\/h4>\n<p>If you move the BIOS backup image, SelfHealing.fd, from the EFI partition, Lenovo systems may show the &#8220;Warning: Please do not power off while completing system update&#8221; screen when turning off the computer. The system will boot fine, though. To avoid this issue, move the file &#8220;IsFlash.bin&#8221; instead.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/lenovo-bios-selfhealing-fd.png\" alt=\"lenovo - bios screen\" width=\"751\" height=\"489\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-77485\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In that case, moving the file SelfHealing.fd to the EFI partition (after installing the feature update, e.g., 24H2) should stop the above screen from appearing. To do so, run these commands:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">mountvol Y: \/s\r\n\r\nxcopy \/h C:\\Lenovo\\BIOS\\Selfhealing.fd  Y:\\EFI\\Lenovo\\BIOS\\\r\n<\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<p>That should do the trick.
