After installing Windows 10 cleanly, the following error may occur when launching Microsoft Store.<\/p>\n

Pardon the interruption\n\nBefore you can shop, we need to update Microsoft Store.\n\nOn a metered network?\n\nYou can connect to WiFi first to avoid possible data charges.<\/pre>\n

When you click “Update now”, the “Updating Microsoft Store… Working…” dialog appears.<\/p>\n

On most systems, the Store will automatically update to the latest version if the system has internet connectivity and the internet connection is not metered.<\/p>\n
However, on some systems, the above page may stall, and the Store may not open.<\/p>\n
Cause<\/h2>\n
This happens because an older version (e.g., 11910.1002.5.0) of Microsoft Store is installed when you cleanly install Windows. The latest Store app version, as of this blog post, is 22408.1401.9.0.<\/p>\n
The Store app is supposed to automatically update upon launching.<\/p>\n
Resolution<\/h2>\n
To fix the Store app, open a Command Prompt window and run the “wsreset -i<\/strong>” command.<\/p>\n
If that doesn’t help, download the Microsoft Store .msixbundle and the dependencies .appx packages as mentioned under “Method 2” of the following article.<\/p>\n
