Windows Update will automatically offer you this version of Windows once the issue has been resolved.<\/pre>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-76743\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/setup-attention-needed-incompatible-driver.png\" alt=\"setup incompatible driver service 24h2\" width=\"695\" height=\"549\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For example, the above error can occur when upgrading Windows 11 from 23H2 to 24H2.<\/p>\n<p>The setupact.log may indicate the following error code.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"err\">0xC1900209 - 0x4000D<\/pre>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Error code<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>Cause<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>Mitigation<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>0xC1900209<\/td>\n<td>The user has chosen to cancel because the system doesn&#8217;t pass the compatibility scan to install the update. Setup.exe will report this error when it can upgrade the machine with user data but cannot migrate installed applications.<\/td>\n<td>Incompatible software is blocking the upgrade process. Uninstall the application and try the upgrade again. Please read the following excerpt from the <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/release-health\/status-windows-11-24H2#263msgdesc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Windows 11, version 24H2 known issues<\/a> page.<\/p>\n<div class=\"qt\">To safeguard your update experience, we have applied a compatibility hold on devices running the incompatible Easy Anti-Cheat drivers. These devices will not be offered to install Windows 11, version 24H2 via the Windows Update release channel.<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<p>To resolve the issue, delete the EasyAntiCheat service using the following commands:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">reg export \"HKLM\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\EasyAntiCheat\" c:\\EasyAntiCheat.reg<\/pre>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">net stop EasyAntiCheat<\/pre>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">sc.exe delete EasyAntiCheat<\/pre>\n<p><em><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/help.ea.com\/en\/help\/pc\/ea-anticheat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How to install and troubleshoot EA anticheat on your PC<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>After restarting Windows, please rename this folder:<\/p>\n<pre>c:\\program files (x86)\\easyanticheat<\/pre>\n<p>to<\/p>\n<pre>dummyfolder<\/pre>\n<p>From an admin Command Prompt window, run this command to refresh the eligibility assessment for the latest feature update.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">CompatTelRunner.exe -m:appraiser.dll -f:DoScheduledTelemetryRun<\/pre>\n<p>It takes a few minutes to complete. After the task completes execution, restart Windows and check for updates. Windows Update should offer you the latest feature update &#8212; e.g., Windows 11 24H2.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h3>Editor&#8217;s note<\/h3>\n<p>If the APPRAISER_HumanReadable.xml mentions another driver or service, uninstall the corresponding software or manually remove its driver service.<\/p>\n<p>In another case, the problem was caused by the <strong>Voicemeeter<\/strong> driver.
