When you run a setup file downloaded from the internet (i.e., non-Store app), the setup doesn’t run, and the following message may appear:<\/p>\n

The app you're trying to install isn't a Microsoft-verified app\n\nInstalling apps from the Store helps protect your PC and keep it running smoothly.<\/pre>\n
<\/p>\n
\"cant<\/p>\n
Cause<\/h2>\n
This can occur if your system settings disallow installing non-store apps.<\/p>\n
Another possibility is your system is in S Mode.<\/p>\n
Resolution<\/h2>\n
Please follow one of the methods below to run the installer.<\/p>\n
1] Unblock the executable<\/h3>\n
Right-click on the setup file you’re trying to run, and click Properties.<\/p>\n

Click Unblock<\/strong>, and click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
2] Configure the system to install apps from anywhere<\/h3>\n
Select Start \u2192 Settings \u2192 Apps \u2192 Advanced app settings.<\/p>\n
Next to “Choose where to get apps”, select “Anywhere<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n
Restart Windows if necessary.<\/p>\n
3] Switch out of S mode<\/h3>\n
If the “Choose where to get apps” option is missing, your system may be in S mode. In that mode, you can’t install apps from outside the Store.<\/p>\n
To check if your PC is using S-Mode go to Settings \u2192 System \u2192 About<\/strong>. On the About page, scroll down to the \u201cWindows Specifications\u201d section. If you see the words \u201cin S mode\u201d to the right of the Edition entry, you’re using an S Mode PC.<\/p>\n
To switch out of S mode, please open the following link in the Win + R (Run) dialog.<\/p>\n

4] Delete the SmartScreen policies<\/h3>\n
Open the Registry Editor and go to this branch:<\/span><\/p>\n
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Policies\\Microsoft\\Windows Defender\\SmartScreen<\/pre>\n
Delete all the values in the right pane of the above key.<\/p>\n
