You wonder if there is a way to set the slideshow duration to something other than the pre-defined timing, for example, 10 seconds.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Change Desktop Background Slideshow duration to less than 1 minute<\/h2>\n<p>The Personalization option in the Settings app doesn&#8217;t let you set the slideshow duration to less than a minute. However, there are two workarounds:<\/p>\n<h3>Method 1: Use the classic wallpaper applet<\/h3>\n<p>To open the classic wallpaper page, press Win + R, then type:<\/p>\n<pre>shell:::{ED834ED6-4B5A-4bfe-8F11-A626DCB6A921} -Microsoft.Personalization\\pageWallpaper<\/pre>\n<p>Click OK.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-76241\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/wallpaper-slideshow-low-duration-classic-cpl.png\" alt=\"desktop slideshow duration custom intervals seconds\" width=\"750\" height=\"871\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can set the duration on this page to as low as &#8220;10 seconds&#8221;.<\/p>\n<div class=\"qt\">\n<h4>Tips<\/h4>\n<p>1) If the above command is complex to type every time, you can create a desktop shortcut for the following:<\/p>\n<pre>explorer shell:::{ED834ED6-4B5A-4bfe-8F11-A626DCB6A921} -Microsoft.Personalization\\pageWallpaper<\/pre>\n<p>(or)<\/p>\n<p>2) Add it to the classic Control Panel using a registry tweak. For example, to set the duration to 20 seconds, assign the value data of <code>20000<\/code>. (i.e., 20 x 1000ms).
