{"id":76189,"date":"2024-07-31T18:22:12","date_gmt":"2024-07-31T12:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/198.58.113.91\/blog\/?p=76189"},"modified":"2024-07-31T18:25:21","modified_gmt":"2024-07-31T12:55:21","slug":"sign-in-options-disabled-settings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/sign-in-options-disabled-settings\/","title":{"rendered":"Fix: Sign-in options is Grayed out in Accounts Settings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All the options in the &#8220;Sign-in options&#8221; page in Settings \u2192 Accounts may be grayed out in your Windows 10 or 11 System.<\/p>\n<p>Also, you see the notification, &#8220;Some of these settings are managed by your organization.&#8221;<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-76190\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/sign-in-options-grayed-out.png\" alt=\"all the sign-in options settings are grayed out\" width=\"665\" height=\"866\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As a result, you can&#8217;t enable the Windows Hello settings, facial recognition, fingerprint recognition, PIN, and Dynamic lock.<\/p>\n<h2>Resolution<\/h2>\n<p>To enable the options in the Sign-in options page in Settings, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<h3>Option 1: Using Command Prompt.<\/h3>\n<p>Open an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/open-elevated-command-prompt-windows\/\">admin Command Prompt<\/a> and run:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">reg add \"HKLM\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\PolicyManager\\default\\Settings\\AllowSignInOptions\" \/v \"value\" \/d \"1\" \/t REG_DWORD \/f<\/pre>\n<p>Press Enter.<\/p>\n<p>You should see the output, &#8220;The operation completed successfully.&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>If the settings are not restored in Sign-in options, restart Windows for the changes to take effect.<\/p>\n<h3>Option 2: Using the Registry Editor.<\/h3>\n<p>Launch <code><strong>regedit.exe<\/strong><\/code> and go to:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"registry\">HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\PolicyManager\\default\\Settings\\AllowSignInOptions<\/pre>\n<p>Double-click the DWORD value named &#8220;<strong>value<\/strong>&#8221; and set it to &#8220;<strong>1<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/allowsigninoptions-registry.png\" alt=\"allowsigninoptions value\" width=\"751\" height=\"249\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-76191\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Exit the Registry Editor.<\/p>\n<p>Restart Windows.<\/p>\n<p>The Accounts \u2192 Sign-in Options settings should now be restored.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All the options in the &#8220;Sign-in options&#8221; page in Settings \u2192 Accounts may be grayed out in your Windows 10 or 11 System.
