If that doesn&#8217;t help, follow the steps below.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h3>Fix the Temp folder permissions<\/h3>\n<p>Fix the Temp folder permissions. To do so, open admin Command Prompt and run the following commands:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">takeown \/f c:\\windows\\temp \/a\n\nicacls c:\\windows\\temp \/reset\n\nicacls c:\\windows\\temp \/inheritance:r\n\nicacls c:\\windows\\temp \/grant *S-1-5-32-544:(OI)(CI)(F)\n\nicacls c:\\windows\\temp \/grant *S-1-5-18:(OI)(CI)(F)\n\nicacls c:\\windows\\temp \/grant \"%username%\":(OI)(CI)(F)\n<\/pre>\n<p>Next, fix the user&#8217;s temp folder permissions using these commands:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">takeown \/f \"%temp%\"\n\nicacls \"%temp%\" \/reset\n\nicacls \"%temp%\" \/inheritance:r\n\nicacls \"%temp%\" \/grant *S-1-5-32-544:(OI)(CI)(F)\n\nicacls \"%temp%\" \/grant *S-1-5-18:(OI)(CI)(F)\n\nicacls \"%temp%\" \/grant \"%username%\":(OI)(CI)(F)\n\nmd \"%temp%\\Low\"\n\nicacls \"%temp%\\Low\" \/setintegritylevel (OI)(CI)low\n<\/pre>\n<p>The above should fix the permissions for the <strong>c:\\windows\\temp<\/strong> and the <strong>%temp%<\/strong> folders.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Fix the Temp environment variable<\/h3>\n<p>Launch <strong>systempropertiesadvanced.exe<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Click Environment Variables.<\/p>\n<p>Under System variables:<\/p>\n<p>Set <strong>TEMP<\/strong> to <strong>C:\\Windows\\Temp<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Set <strong>TMP<\/strong> to <strong>C:\\Windows\\Temp<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under User variables:<\/p>\n<p>Set <strong>TEMP<\/strong> to <strong>%USERPROFILE%\\AppData\\Local\\Temp<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Set <strong>TMP<\/strong> to <strong>%USERPROFILE%\\AppData\\Local\\Temp<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Restart Windows.<\/p>\n<p>See if you can now install Epic Games Launcher.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When installing Epic Games Launcher, you may get the following error code: The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package.
