It may look like a ghost storage entry, as in the following screenshot.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-76058\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/terabox-device-1.png\" alt=\"terabox ghost entry in devices and drives\" width=\"498\" height=\"161\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Or it shows &#8220;Double-click to run TeraBox,&#8221; but nothing happens when you double-click it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-76059\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/terabox-device-2.png\" alt=\"terabox ghost entry in devices and drives\" width=\"499\" height=\"155\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Cause<\/h2>\n<p>This issue is caused by a leftover namespace key, which we&#8217;ll see how to remove.<\/p>\n<p>You can prevent this issue by unchecking the &#8220;Show TeraBox in My Computer&#8221; option before uninstalling it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-76060\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/terabox-settings.png\" alt=\"terabox settings - show in devices and drives\" width=\"750\" height=\"358\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Remove Terabox from Devices and Drives<\/h2>\n<p>To remove the phantom drive caused by an incomplete uninstallation of Terabox, please do the following:<\/p>\n<h3>Option 1: Using a REG file<\/h3>\n<p>Download run <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/terabox_remove_device.zip\">terabox_remove_device.reg<\/a> (zipped). Click Yes to confirm.<\/p>\n<div class=\"qt\">\n<p>Here are the contents of the above REG file:<\/p>\n<pre>Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00\n\n[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\MyComputer\\NameSpace\\{679F137C-3162-45da-BE3C-2F9C3D093F64}]\n\n[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Classes\\CLSID\\{679F137C-3162-45da-BE3C-2F9C3D093F64}]\n\n[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\\Classes\\CLSID\\{679F137C-3162-45da-BE3C-2F9C3D093F64}]<\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Option 2: Using admin Command Prompt<\/h3>\n<p>Alternatively, you can open an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/open-elevated-command-prompt-windows\/\">admin Command Prompt<\/a> and run the following commands to remove TeraBox from Devices and drives.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">reg delete \"HKCU\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\MyComputer\\NameSpace\\{679F137C-3162-45da-BE3C-2F9C3D093F64}\" \/f<\/pre>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">reg delete \"HKCU\\Software\\Classes\\CLSID\\{679F137C-3162-45da-BE3C-2F9C3D093F64}\" \/f<\/pre>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">reg delete \"HKLM\\Software\\Classes\\CLSID\\{679F137C-3162-45da-BE3C-2F9C3D093F64}\" \/f<\/pre>\n<p>If you get the error &#8220;<em>ERROR: The system was unable to find the specified registry key or value.<\/em>&#8221; for one of the above commands, ignore it and run the next command.<\/p>\n<p>That should remove the phantom entry from devices and drives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After installing and uninstalling TeraBox, the Terabox entry may remain under &#8220;Devices and drives&#8221; on This PC.
