This article tells you how to remove &#8220;Restore Previous Versions&#8221; from the right-click menu and the file\/folder properties.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Remove &#8220;Restore Previous Versions&#8221; Menu and Properties Sheet<\/h2>\n<p>The &#8220;Restore Previous Versions&#8221; context menu item and the &#8220;Previous Versions&#8221; tab in file\/folder properties can be hidden using the following registry edit.<\/p>\n<p>Open an admin Command Prompt and run this command:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"cmd\">reg add \"HKLM\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Shell Extensions\\Blocked\" \/v \"{596AB062-B4D2-4215-9F74-E9109B0A8153}\" \/t REG_SZ \/f<\/pre>\n<div class=\"qt\">\nThe GUID <strong>{596AB062-B4D2-4215-9F74-E9109B0A8153}<\/strong> is the Previous Versions Property Page and also applies to the Previous Versions context menu.\n<\/div>\n<p>(or)<\/p>\n<p>Open <strong>regedit.exe<\/strong> and go to:<\/p>\n<pre>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Shell Extensions\\Blocked<\/pre>\n<p>In the right pane, create a REG_SZ value named &#8220;<strong>{596AB062-B4D2-4215-9F74-E9109B0A8153}<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Exit the Registry Editor.<\/p>\n<p>Log off and log back in, or restart the Explorer shell via Task Manager.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The previous versions feature in Windows allows you to restore a previous version of files.
