When you open a .zip file and run an enclosed file without extracting the contents to a folder, the following error may appear:<\/p>\n

Compressed (zipped) Folder Error\n\nWindows cannot complete the extraction.\n\nThe destination file could not be created.<\/pre>\n

Cause<\/h2>\n
This happens if the %temp%<\/strong><\/code> folder permissions are incorrect.<\/p>\n
When you run icacls %temp%<\/strong><\/code> to view the permissions, it may show that the “Everyone” group has Read and Delete access. But your user account and the SYSTEM account may not listed, which causes the problem.<\/p>\n

Resolution<\/h2>\n
To resolve the zip folder error, please fix the %temp%<\/code> folder permissions.<\/p>\n
Open an admin Command Prompt<\/a> and run:<\/p>\n
takeown \/f \"%temp%\"\nicacls \"%temp%\" \/reset\nicacls \"%temp%\" \/inheritance:r\nicacls \"%temp%\" \/grant *S-1-5-32-544:(OI)(CI)(F)\nicacls \"%temp%\" \/grant *S-1-5-18:(OI)(CI)(F)\nicacls \"%temp%\" \/grant \"%username%\":(OI)(CI)(F)\nmd \"%temp%\\Low\"\nicacls \"%temp%\\Low\" \/setintegritylevel (OI)(CI)low<\/pre>\n
The above should fix the permissions for the %temp% folder.<\/p>\n
Running icacls %temp%<\/strong><\/code> should show the following:<\/p>\n

Although the above should solve the original issue, you may also want to reset the permissions for the AppData folder:<\/p>\n
