{"id":75341,"date":"2024-06-01T13:23:03","date_gmt":"2024-06-01T07:53:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/198.58.113.91\/blog\/?p=75341"},"modified":"2024-06-01T13:48:36","modified_gmt":"2024-06-01T08:18:36","slug":"fix-error-0x800f081f-and-0x800f0831","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/fix-error-0x800f081f-and-0x800f0831\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Fix Errors 0x800F081F and 0x800F0831"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When you try to install a cumulative update or a Feature on Demand component like .NET Framework 3.5, one of the following errors may occur:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"err\">Error 0x800F081F\n\nError 0x800f0831<\/pre>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Running the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/repair-windows-10-using-dism-sfc\/\">DISM command<\/a> (&#8220;<code>Dism.exe \/Online \/Cleanup-Image \/Restorehealth<\/code>&#8220;) may not fix the problem in some cases; it might result in the same error.<\/p>\n<h2>Cause<\/h2>\n<p>The error codes 0x800F081F and 0x800f0831 mean the Component Store (WinSxS folder or the COMPONENTS registry hive) is corrupted.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>0x800f081f (CBS_E_SOURCE_MISSING) means source for package or file not found.<\/li>\n<li>0x800f0831 (CBS_E_STORE_CORRUPTION) means Store corruption, manifest missing for package.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The missing manifests are mentioned in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/collect-diagnostic-logs-windows\/#cbs\">CBS logs<\/a> located in the <code>%Windir%\\logs\\CBS<\/code> folder. Manually copying the manifest of a previous update package should help.
