[Fix] Windows Update Error 0x8024a223 in Windows 10<\/h2>\n

Step 1: Restart Windows 10<\/h3>\n

Restarting Windows may fix the problem in some cases. If this doesn’t help, proceed to Step 2.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Repair Windows Update Components Using DISM & SFC<\/h3>\n

Windows updates and service packs may fail to install if there are corruption errors. For example, an update might not install if a system file is damaged. The DISM tool may help you to fix some Windows corruption errors.\u00a0The DISM and the System File Checker (SFC) tools<\/a> help you restore missing or outdated components as well as fix many Windows Update errors.\u00a0Follow these steps:<\/p>\n

  1. Open an elevated or admin command prompt<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Type the following command, and then press Enter.\n
    DISM.exe \/Online \/Cleanup-image \/Restorehealth<\/pre>\n

    \nNote:<\/strong> When you run the above command, DISM uses Windows Update to provide the files that are required to fix corruptions. However, if your Windows Update client is already broken, use a running Windows installation as the repair source, or use a Windows side-by-side folder from a network share or from a removable media, such as the Windows DVD or flash drive, as the source of the files.<\/em><\/p>\n
    Also, make sure that the Build level of the repair source matches with the Windows 10 build installed in the system. You can slipstream Windows 10 updates with the most recent ISO and create a setup media.     Optionally, to run DISM mentioning a repair source, run the following command instead:<\/p>\n
