This seems to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Windows10\/comments\/9kxspp\/anyone_else_have_this_brightness_issue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">yet another bug<\/a> in the 1809 update.<\/p>\n<p>This post tells you how to fix\/workaround the screen brightness reset problem in your Windows 10 1809 computer.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>[Fix] Brightness Resets to 50% After Restarting Windows 10<\/h2>\n<h4>Option 1<\/h4>\n<p>First, visit the motherboard or display driver manufacturer&#8217;s website and get the latest driver update from there. See if installing the latest drivers fixes the problem.<\/p>\n<h4>Option 2<\/h4>\n<p>Another option would be to disable the\u00a0<code>DisplayEnhancementService<\/code> via services console. Right-click Start, click Run. Type\u00a0<code>services.msc<\/code>\u00a0and press ENTER. Double-click the\u00a0<code>DisplayEnhancementService<\/code>service and set it to Disabled.. Restart Windows 10.<\/p>\n<p>Brightness will stay at 100%. However, this will not let you set it at any other setting (50%,75% etc).<\/p>\n<h4>Option 3<\/h4>\n<p>If none of the above workarounds help, use this little PowerShell command as a workaround. This command-line resets the brightness level to 100%.<\/p>\n<pre>powershell.exe \"(Get-WmiObject -Namespace root\/WMI -Class WmiMonitorBrightnessMethods).WmiSetBrightness(1,100)\"<\/pre>\n<p><em>Credits: PowerShell cmdlet &amp; Task Scheduler idea by <a href=\"https:\/\/answers.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/forum\/windows_10-update\/windows-brightness-issue-after-the-1809-update\/2a1689ae-5625-4679-9ab7-3f754cb8111b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Evaque<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The above PowerShell cmdlet can be used via Task Scheduler to automatically adjust\/set the brightness level at every startup.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Right-click Start, click Run.
