After doing a clean installation of Windows 10\/11, the following error may occur when opening the Store app.<\/p>\n

Something bad happened\n\nUnknown layout specified in manifest.<\/pre>\n

When you open the Store app’s home page, the page may be blank, and the following error may appear:<\/p>\n
The thing you're looking for isn't here.\n\nWe probably don't have it, but just in case, try searching for it.\n\nCode: 0x00000005<\/pre>\n

Cause<\/h2>\n
The above error occurs if you have a very old version of Store installed, and it can’t auto-update for some reason.<\/p>\n
Resolution<\/h2>\n
Please follow the methods below to resolve the Store app error code 0x00000005 and the “Unknown layout specified in manifest” error.<\/p>\n
If a method doesn’t fix the issue, proceed to the next method.<\/p>\n
1] Check your region settings<\/h3>\n
Open Settings \u2192 Time & Language \u2192 Region \u2192 Country or region.<\/p>\n
Try changing it to US or UK.<\/p>\n
Also, if you use a VPN, change to the US\/UK server and relaunch Store.<\/p>\n
Note: It’s possible that your regional settings are incorrect. For instance, you may have the region set for a different country where you holidayed earlier, and have forgot to update the setting after returning to your home country.<\/p>\n
Ensure the appropriate Language Pack is installed. If it\u2019s in the state of being \u201cavailable\u201d, click Download and let the system install it from Microsoft servers.<\/p>\n

2] Reset the Store app cache<\/h3>\n
Reset the Microsoft Store cache by running the command wsreset.exe<\/strong> from the Run dialog or Command Prompt.<\/p>\n
3] Update the Store app<\/h3>\n
Visit the following link:<\/p>\n

Select Install.<\/p>\n
Microsoft Store will open in the Microsoft Store App.<\/p>\n
Click “Update”.<\/p>\n

4] Uninstall and reinstall Store<\/h3>\n
Launch PowerShell (run as admin) and run the following commands.<\/p>\n
Get-AppxPackage Microsoft. WindowsStore -allusers | Remove-AppxPackage<\/pre>\n
Then, to reinstall Store using the following command:<\/p>\n
Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore -allusers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register \"$($_.InstallLocation)\\AppXManifest.xml\"}<\/pre>\n

5] Reinstall the Store app using the offline installer<\/h3>\n
