Otherwise, the Media folder might be unavailable.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open File Explorer, type <strong>C:\\$GetCurrent<\/strong>, and then press Enter.<\/li>\n<li>Copy and paste the Media folder to the desktop. If you don&#8217;t see the folder, select View and make sure the check box next to Hidden items is selected.<\/li>\n<li>Restart your PC, open File Explorer, type C:\\$GetCurrent in the address bar, and then press Enter.<\/li>\n<li>Copy and paste the Media folder from the desktop to C:\\$GetCurrent.<\/li>\n<li>Open the Media folder and double-click Setup.<\/li>\n<li>Follow the instructions to start the upgrade. On the Get important updates screen, select &#8220;Not right now&#8221; or &#8220;Not at the moment&#8221;, and then select Next.<\/li>\n<li>Follow the instructions to finish installing Windows 10\/11.<\/li>\n<li>After you&#8217;re done, make sure to install available updates. Select the Start button, and then select Settings &gt; Update &amp; Security &gt; Windows Update &gt; Check for updates.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Option 2<\/h3>\n<p>Use the Windows 10\/11 ISO or USB setup disk to install Windows.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Download the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/windows-iso-to-usb-dvd-tool-bootable-media\/\">Windows 10\/11 ISO<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Double-click the downloaded ISO to mount it to a drive-letter.<\/li>\n<li>Run Setup.exe from the mounted ISO drive-letter.<\/li>\n<li>In the initial screen, click &#8220;Change how Setup downloads updates\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Select &#8220;Not right now&#8221; or &#8220;Not at the moment&#8221;, and click Next.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-52810\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/setup_stuck_updates_check_2.png\" alt=\"windows setup stuck checking for updates - disable dynamic update\" width=\"702\" height=\"555\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Follow the instructions to finish installing Windows 10\/11.<\/li>\n<li>After you&#8217;re done, make sure to install available updates.
