In this scenario, when you attempt to start the <strong>Microsoft Defender Antivirus Service<\/strong>\u00a0(<code>WinDefend<\/code>) via the Services console, it shows the following error, and the service wouldn&#8217;t start.<!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"err\">The Windows Defender Antivirus Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped.<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5968\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/malwarebytes-action-center-register-4.png\" alt=\"windows defender disabled by malwarebytes premium\" width=\"700\" height=\"260\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Or, Microsoft Defender Antivirus Service will start and immediately stop.<\/p>\n<p>The result is exactly the same when you try to start these services:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection Service (Sense)<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Defender Antivirus Network Inspection Service (WdNisSvc)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Security and Maintenance applet in the classic Control Panel and Windows Security Center <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/reliability-perfmon-not-detect-antivirus-windows-7-vista\/\">will report<\/a> that Malwarebytes is currently your &#8220;anti-virus&#8221; program. It disables the Microsoft Defender Antivirus automatically.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5969\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/malwarebytes-action-center-register-3.png\" alt=\"windows defender disabled by malwarebytes premium\" width=\"700\" height=\"443\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14355\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/malwarebytes-register-security-center-0.png\" alt=\"malwarebytes register windows security center\" width=\"701\" height=\"731\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As you can see above, all of the <strong>Virus &amp; threat protection<\/strong> options are missing, as a third-party anti-virus solution is installed.
