Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page.<\/pre>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-56977\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/troubleshooter-error-1.png\" alt=\"other troubleshooters - error file association\" width=\"750\" height=\"517\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Cause<\/h2>\n<p>As you may have known, the msdt.exe is deprecated, and Microsoft is moving the troubleshooters to a new platform. You can read about it in the article <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/deprecation-of-microsoft-support-diagnostic-tool-msdt-and-msdt-troubleshooters-0c5ac9a2-1600-4539-b9d0-069e71f9040a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deprecation of Microsoft Support Diagnostic Tool (MSDT) and MSDT Troubleshooters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll need the Get Help app from Microsoft Store to launch the relocated troubleshooters. The Get Help app is preinstalled in most cases. But if it&#8217;s missing on your computer or you uninstalled it using PowerShell, the <code>ms-contact-support:\/\/<\/code> association error appears when accessing the redirected troubleshooters &#8212; e.g., Audio troubleshooter.<\/p>\n<h2>Resolution<\/h2>\n<p>Open PowerShell as administrator.<\/p>\n<p>Run the following command to reinstall the Get Help app.<\/p>\n<pre class=\"powershell\">Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.GetHelp -allusers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register \"$($_.InstallLocation)\\AppXManifest.xml\"}<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-56966\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/get-help-app-powershell.png\" alt=\"Get Help app - reinstall via powershell\" width=\"676\" height=\"151\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If the package is unavailable and you get an error message, download the <strong>Get Help<\/strong> app from the Store.<\/p>\n<p>Visit the following link and click &#8220;Get in Store app&#8221;:<\/p>\n<pre>Get Help - Microsoft Store Apps:\nhttps:\/\/apps.microsoft.com\/store\/detail\/get-help\/9PKDZBMV1H3T<\/pre>\n<p><em>Description: Need assistance with Windows?
