MCT is the officially recommended way to get a copy of the latest Windows 10 ISO.<\/p>\n<h4><a id=\"mct_gui\"><\/a>MCT GUI method<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Download the Media Creation Tool\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/software-download\/windows10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Windows 10<\/a> \/ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/software-download\/windows11\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Windows 11<\/a>) from Microsoft.<\/li>\n<li>Run the MCT file MediaCreationToolxx.exe &#8212; e.g., for the 22H2 version of the software, it&#8217;s named MediaCreationTool22H2.exe. You need to be an administrator to run this tool.<\/li>\n<li>If you agree to the license terms, select Accept.<\/li>\n<li>On the <em>What do you want to do?<\/em> page, select <strong>Create installation media (USB drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC<\/strong>, and then select Next.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/w10-enterprise-iso-mct-3.png\" alt=\"download windows 10 or 11 iso using mct\" width=\"702\" height=\"555\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23904\" \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>The &#8220;Use the recommended options for this PC&#8221; option will be enabled by default. It means the tool will download the correct ISO for that particular computer. On the other hand, if you need to download a different language ISO to install it on <strong>another<\/strong> computer, uncheck &#8220;Use the recommended options for this PC&#8221; and select the language and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) accordingly.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-58450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/mct-create-iso-select-lang.png\" alt=\"mct create installation media - iso or usb - select language architecture\" width=\"702\" height=\"555\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>ISO file<\/strong>, and click Next.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23906\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/w10-enterprise-iso-mct-4.png\" alt=\"download windows 10 or 11 iso using mct\" width=\"702\" height=\"555\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Follow the on-screen instructions and download the ISO.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Windows 10\/11 ISO downloaded using Microsoft is a multi-edition (or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/extract-files-windows-10-iso-dvd-install-wim\/#extract_image\">multi-index<\/a>) ISO that contains many Editions in the single WIM\/ESD image in the ISO. When running Windows setup (clean installation) using the ISO or DVD, you&#8217;ll be offered to choose the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/windows-10-setup-editions-not-shown-clean-install\/\">required edition<\/a> from the list.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23750\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/w10-setup-multiple-editions.png\" alt=\"windows 10 setup not showing the list of editions\" width=\"699\" height=\"509\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Using the latest MCT utility in the GUI mode, you can download only the latest (Consumer) edition of Windows 10\/11 ISO, which is a drawback. But the command-line and wrapper script methods discussed below would extend the capability of the Media Creation Tool.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Where is Windows 10 Enterprise Edition?<\/h4>\n<p>The Media Creation Tool doesn&#8217;t download the Enterprise Edition ISO by <strong>default<\/strong>. The GUI downloads the consumer edition ISO only, which contains the following indexes\/editions:<\/p>\n<pre>1 - Windows 10 Home\r\n2 - Windows 10 Home N\r\n3 - Windows 10 Home Single Language\r\n4 - Windows 10 Education\r\n5 - Windows 10 Education N\r\n6 - Windows 10 Pro\r\n7 - Windows 10 Pro N\r\n8 - Windows 10 Pro Education\r\n9 - Windows 10 Pro Education N\r\n10 - Windows 10 Pro for Workstations\r\n11 - Windows 10 Pro N for Workstations<\/pre>\n<h4><a id=\"enterprise\"><\/a>Using MCT command-line to download Windows 10\/11 Enterprise Edition<\/h4>\n<p>You can force MCT to download the business edition ISO (which includes Windows 10 Enterprise) using the following command-line method:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Option 1:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/open-elevated-command-prompt-windows\/\">admin Command Prompt<\/a>, run this command-line:<\/p>\n<pre>MediaCreationTool20H2.exe \/Eula Accept \/Retail \/MediaArch x64 \/MediaLangCode en-US \/MediaEdition Enterprise<\/pre>\n<p><em>Make sure you type in the full path for the MCT file you downloaded.<\/em><\/p>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%; height: 88px;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr style=\"height: 22px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 22px;\"><strong>Command-line switch<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 22px;\"><strong>Description<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 22px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 22px;\">\/MediaArch<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 22px;\">The architecture you&#8217;re going to download. See the full list of <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows-hardware\/manufacture\/desktop\/available-language-packs-for-windows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Language codes<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 22px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 22px;\">\/MediaEdition<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%; height: 22px;\">The edition you need to download. e.g., Enterprise, EnterpriseN, Education, EducationN, Professional, ProfessionalN, etc. Microsoft ISOs are multi-edition ISOs, anyway. You can choose between consumer and business editions only.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Continue the on-screen instructions. MCT will download the Windows 10 Enterprise Edition (64-bit\/x64) ISO.<\/p>\n<p>If you receive any errors when running the above command, follow &#8220;Option 2&#8221; below. Option 2 uses the same command-line arguments, but it suggests running it on the enclosed setup file\u00a0 (inside MCT executable) instead of the wrapper.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Option 2:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Run the Media Creation Tool &#8212; e.g., MediaCreationTool20H2.exe<\/li>\n<li>When the Setup window opens, launch the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/open-elevated-command-prompt-windows\/\">admin Command Prompt<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Copy the <code>C:\\$Windows.~WS\\Sources<\/code> directory to a different location, say <code>D:\\Sources<\/code><\/li>\n<li>Cancel the Media Creation Tool&#8217;s setup window now and then wait for a minute.<\/li>\n<li>Switch to the <code>D:\\Sources<\/code> folder in Command Prompt.<\/li>\n<li>Run the following command-line and press Enter:\n<pre>setuphost.exe \/Eula Accept \/Retail \/MediaArch x64 \/MediaLangCode en-US \/MediaEdition Enterprise \/Download \/Web<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23903\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/w10-enterprise-iso-mct-1.png\" alt=\"download windows 10 enterprise iso using mct\" width=\"699\" height=\"121\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> You must run the above command from an admin Command Prompt window. Or else, nothing would happen. The setuphost.exe will not self-elevate itself.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the Windows 10 Enterprise key here. If you&#8217;re evaluating it, you can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/windows-10-generic-products-keys-list\/\">generic product key<\/a> for <code>XGVPP-NMH47-7TTHJ-W3FW7-8HV2C<\/code> Windows 10 Enterprise. Check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows-server\/get-started\/kmsclientkeys\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official KMS client setup keys<\/a> as well, if you want to use them. The Windows 10 Enterprise 20H2 (x64) file size is 4.39 GB.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23907\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/w10-enterprise-iso-mct-6.png\" alt=\"download windows 10 enterprise iso using mct\" width=\"702\" height=\"555\" \/>The setup screen offers you to burn the ISO to DVD. If you don&#8217;t need a DVD, then click <strong>Finish<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>After you click on Finish, the setup process will clean up the temporary directories automatically. However, if you used &#8220;Option 2&#8221; above, be sure to manually clear the <code>D:\\Sources<\/code> folder where you copied the setup files earlier. Doing so can save you 5 GB of disk space.<\/p>\n<p>The Windows 10 Enterprise ISO is now ready!<\/p>\n<h4>How to ensure it&#8217;s the &#8220;Windows 10\/11 Enterprise&#8221; ISO?<\/h4>\n<p>To make sure that the MCT has downloaded the Windows 10 Enterprise ISO (and not the consumer editions ISO), you can use the DISM command to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/iso-find-windows-build-version-edition-using-dism\/\">check the indexes<\/a> inside the ISO. Follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Double-click the ISO to mount it to a drive &#8212; e.g., <code>H:\\<\/code><\/li>\n<li>Open an admin Command Prompt and type the following command:\n<pre>dism \/Get-WimInfo \/WimFile:\"H:\\sources\\install.esd\"\r\n\r\n(or)\r\n\r\n\r\ndism \/Get-WimInfo \/WimFile:\"H:\\sources\\install.wim\"<\/pre>\n<p><em>(Most likely you&#8217;ll find the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/convert-esd-to-wim-dism-windows-10\/\">ESD file<\/a> instead of WIM, as ESD is a highly compressed format.)<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23909\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/w10-enterprise-iso-mct-verify-index.png\" alt=\"download windows 10 enterprise iso using mct\" width=\"699\" height=\"764\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There you go! You can see the editions of Windows 10 and the corresponding sizes. For the business editions, the following SKUs are included in the ISO:<\/p>\n<pre>1 - Windows 10 Education\r\n2 - Windows 10 Education N\r\n3 - Windows 10 Enterprise\r\n4 - Windows 10 Enterprise N\r\n5 - Windows 10 Pro\r\n6 - Windows 10 Pro N<\/pre>\n<p>Likewise, by interchanging the command-line setup switches, you can download any edition (Consumer vs. Business editions) of the ISO using the Media Creation Tool.<\/p>\n<h4><a id=\"universalmct\"><\/a>Option 3: Download any version or edition ISO using &#8220;Universal MediaCreationTool wrapper&#8221;<\/h4>\n<p>You can easily download any version or edition of the official Windows 10 ISO (any language) using the &#8220;Universal MediaCreationTool wrapper&#8221; batch file.\u00a0All you need to do is download the wrapper or the batch file from this link:<\/p>\n<pre>AveYo\/MediaCreationTool.bat: Universal MCT wrapper script for all Windows 10\/11 versions from 1507 to 21H2!:\r\nhttps:\/\/github.com\/AveYo\/MediaCreationTool.bat\r\n<\/pre>\n<p><em>(The batch file is a plain-text file that can be viewed using Notepad.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Unzip and extract <code>MediaCreationTool.bat<\/code> and run it. It presents the list of Windows 10\/11 versions available &#8212; the following UI is powered by the Windows PowerShell command-line used in the batch script.<\/p>\n<p>Choose the version of Windows 10\/11 ISO you want.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-51043\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/mct-wrapper-windows-10-11.png\" alt=\"mct wrapper batch file\" width=\"751\" height=\"643\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The tool then downloads that particular version of the Media Creation Tool (e.g., <code>MediaCreationTool22H2.exe<\/code>, <code>MediaCreationTool20H2.exe<\/code>, <code>MediaCreationTool2009.exe<\/code>) along with the respective <code>products.cab<\/code> file. It then extracts the <code>products.cab<\/code> contents and parses the <code>products.xml<\/code> and adds the required lines in it.<\/p>\n<p>It then launches the Media Creation Tool. This time, you&#8217;ll see the Edition and Language choice in the MCT window. You can choose between the Consumer version and the Business version (which contains the Enterprise edition) of the Windows 10 or 11 ISO.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23937\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/mct-all-editions-wrapper-script-3.png\" alt=\"universal mct wrapper batch file to download any edition or version Windows 10 ISO\" width=\"626\" height=\"381\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Media Creation Tool will download the selected ISO from the Microsoft servers.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><em>Other than MCT, here are other ways to directly download the Windows 10 ISO. Read on&#8230;<\/em><\/h4>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><a id=\"useragent\"><\/a>Direct download using your web browser<\/h3>\n<p>By changing your web browser&#8217;s user-agent string (to mimic a mobile or tablet), Microsoft&#8217;s Windows 10 or 11 download page can be made to reveal the direct download links for Windows 10 ISO for both x86 and x64 versions.<\/p>\n<p><em>A web browser uses the user agent string to tell the website information about the browser and operating system. This allows the website to customize (dynamic) content for the capabilities of a particular device. For instance, a website may automatically render a mobile version of its pages if it detects the browsing from a mobile or tablet.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Update:<\/strong> For Windows 11, you don&#8217;t need to change your browser user agent string to get the direct download URL.
