We&#8217;ll see how to enable or disable the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/onedrive-demand-block-automatic-file-downloads\/\">Files On-Demand<\/a> option in OneDrive in this article.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Enable or Disable OneDrive &#8220;Files On-Demand&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p>Launch OneDrive.exe and access OneDrive settings via the OneDrive notification icon.<\/p>\n<p><em>(If you don&#8217;t have OneDrive installed, download and install the <a href=\"https:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/fwlink\/p\/?linkid=851311\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">latest version of OneDrive<\/a>.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Select the &#8220;Sync and backup&#8221; tab. You see a cloud icon for each online-only file in File Explorer, but the file doesn\u2019t download to your device until you open it. You can open a locally available file anytime, even without Internet access. If you need more space, you can change the file back to online only.
