If you continue to receive this error, you can use this error code to search for help with this problem.\r\n\r\nError 0x80070570: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.<\/pre>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-54287\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/0x80070570-error.png\" alt=\"0x80070570 file or directory corrupted\" width=\"445\" height=\"309\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As the error message states, this happens if the file or directory is corrupted. Running a disk check fixes this issue.<\/p>\n<h2>Resolution<\/h2>\n<h3>Option 1: Run Disk Error Checking<\/h3>\n<p>Running the disk error checking tool (alternative solution to Chkdsk) may also fix the issue without requiring a reboot.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open File Explorer \u2192 This PC<\/li>\n<li>Right-click on the drive-letter (where the corrupted file or directory is located), and click Properties.<\/li>\n<li>Click Tools \u2192 click on the &#8220;Check&#8221; button.<\/li>\n<li>Click &#8220;<strong>Scan drive<\/strong>&#8221; and complete the procedure.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24323\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/disk-error-checking-tools.png\" alt=\"disk error check tools\" width=\"542\" height=\"231\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the Error Checking tool finds some file system errors and prompts to fix them, follow the onscreen instructions and let the tool rectify the errors. Would you like to schedule this volume to be\r\nchecked the next time the system restarts?
