Here are two new third-party portable tools using which you can make your taskbar translucent, set gradient color, or make it fully transparent.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>First, let&#8217;s activate the built-in transparency feature using a registry edit for comparison. Here is how the taskbar looks like after setting the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/high-oled-taskbar-transparency-windows-10\/\">UseOLEDTaskbarTransparency<\/a> registry value.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5110\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5110\" style=\"width: 665px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/transparent-taskbar-w10-oled.png\" alt=\"make taskbar fully transparent or translucent\" width=\"675\" height=\"187\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5110\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5110\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Increased taskbar transparency using registry setting<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There you can see that it doesn&#8217;t achieve 100% taskbar transparency &#8212; and no way near 100%. Let&#8217;s check out the third-party tools that can accomplish the task easily.<\/p>\n<h2>TranslucentTB<\/h2>\n<p>Reddit user <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Windows10\/comments\/5mwa10\/i_wrote_a_translucent_taskbar_program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IronManMark20<\/a> has come up with a tool that can make your Taskbar fully transparent. Earlier version of his program used a translucent taskbar, but the current version sets the taskbar fully transparent.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5109\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5109\" style=\"width: 665px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/transparent-taskbar-w10-1.png\" alt=\"make taskbar fully transparent or translucent\" width=\"675\" height=\"185\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5109\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5109\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Taskbar made fully transparent<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>You can download the executable (source-code included) from the project&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ethanhs\/TranslucentTB\/releases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GitHub page &#8212; TranslucentTB<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>TaskbarTools<\/h2>\n<p>Another Reddit user <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Windows10\/comments\/5n6n9h\/i_created_a_more_powerful_translucent_taskbar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Elestriel<\/a> has come with a similar tool named &#8220;TaskbarTools&#8221; with a user interface. This program made in C#, allows you to set the Taskbars to be completely transparent, as in the original project (TranslucentTB).<\/p>\n<p>TaskbarTools also allows you to set a blur on the Taskbar, and to set colors. You can make it look like Windows 7&#8217;s Glass effect.
