Press <kbd>WinKey<\/kbd> + <kbd>R<\/kbd> to bring up the Run dialog.<\/p>\n<p>2. Type the following and press <kbd>ENTER<\/kbd><\/p>\n<pre>%LocalAppData%\\Amazon Drive\\uninst.exe<\/pre>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5091\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5091\" style=\"width: 489px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/amazon-drive-uninstall-1.png\" alt=\"amazon drive remove from explorer navigation pane\" width=\"499\" height=\"388\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5091\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5091\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Uninstall Amazon Drive<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Complete the uninstall routine.<\/p>\n<p>If you receive the following error when running the above command, it would mean that Amazon Drive had been uninstalled already.<\/p>\n<p class=\"err\">Windows cannot find &#8216;C:\\Users\\username\\AppData\\Local\\Amazon&#8217;. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.<\/p>\n<p>In that case, you may download the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/drive\/app-download\" target=\"_blank\">Amazon Drive setup file<\/a> again, install it and then uninstall it via Programs and Features in the Control Panel.<\/p>\n<p>If that doesn&#8217;t help, use the Registry Editor to remove Amazon Drive pinned item from the Explorer navigation pane.<\/p>\n<h2>Remove Amazon Drive from File Explorer Navigation Pane<\/h2>\n<p>1. Create a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/create-restore-protection-point-rollback-windows\/\">System Restore Point<\/a> first<\/p>\n<p>2. Start the Registry Editor (regedit.exe)<\/p>\n<p>3. Delete the following keys one by one. If one of the keys don&#8217;t exist, ignore and proceed to the next key.<\/p>\n<pre><code>HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\\CLSID\\{9B57F475-CCB0-4C85-88A9-2AA9A6C0809A}\r\nHKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\\WOW6432Node\\CLSID\\{9B57F475-CCB0-4C85-88A9-2AA9A6C0809A}\r\nHKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Classes\\CLSID\\{9B57F475-CCB0-4C85-88A9-2AA9A6C0809A}\r\nHKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\Desktop\\NameSpace\\{9B57F475-CCB0-4C85-88A9-2AA9A6C0809A}<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>4. Also, delete the DWORD value named <code>{9B57F475-CCB0-4C85-88A9-2AA9A6C0809A}<\/code> in the following key. Don&#8217;t delete the entire key.<\/p>\n<pre>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\HideDesktopIcons\\NewStartPanel<\/pre>\n<p>5.
