Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/reason-labs-rav-dns-update-nsis.png\" alt=\"nsis error - reason cybersecurity - task manager\" width=\"500\" height=\"243\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-49205\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you see the NSIS error message dialog on your computer, this article tells you how to resolve the issue.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Cause<\/h2>\n<p>One of the most likely causes of the NSIS error is RAV Endpoint Protection or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.virustotal.com\/gui\/file\/0c40bf5e980ca5d4b6bc493cd7c708018150fb45db09ff864b2eecba11a92185\/details\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RAV VPN<\/a>. On an affected system, the root cause was found by running Process Explorer (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/determine-program-process-owns-error-message-window\/\">How to Find Which Program Owns an Error Message Window<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/reason-labs-rav-process.png\" alt=\"nsis error - reason cybersecurity\" width=\"750\" height=\"398\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-49203\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Resolution<\/h2>\n<p>The file names in the error message are related to RAV Endpoint or RAV VPN program. Uninstalling this program should help. It&#8217;s possible that the RAV product may have been bundled with other programs. Most users don&#8217;t remember installing them.<\/p>\n<p>If you can&#8217;t uninstall the product, <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/sysinternals\/downloads\/autoruns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">download Autoruns<\/a> from Microsoft and run it as administrator.<\/p>\n<p>In Autoruns, find and delete the &#8220;Reason Cybersecurity&#8221; or &#8220;ReasonLabs&#8221; entries. There may be more than one service from that vendor.\u00a0Here are some services that belong to Reason CyberSecurity.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>rsDNSClientSvc<\/li>\n<li>rsDNSResolver<\/li>\n<li>rsDNSSvc<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also, check the &#8220;Scheduled Tasks&#8221; tab in Autoruns to see if there are any Reason CyberSecurity entries.<\/p>\n<p>Delete all the <strong>Reason Cybersecurity<\/strong>-related entries using Autoruns.
