For example, after updating to Windows 11 to 22H2 from 21H2, the Windows Update page in Settings lists the updates applicable for Version 21H2.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>However, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/prevent-wu-driver-update-automatic-realtek\/#wushowhide\">wushowhide.diagcab tool<\/a> doesn&#8217;t list those obsolete updates, and thus you can&#8217;t hide those updates with that tool.<\/p>\n<h2>Cause<\/h2>\n<p>Many users face <a href=\"https:\/\/answers.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/forum\/windows_11-wintop_update\/what-happens-if-i-update-w11-using-w10-20h2\/da8b442b-77fb-44c0-9c9a-4702a90597e5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this issue<\/a> after upgrading to Windows 11 22H2. It could be due to a WU cache or Qmgr.dat cache issue, and the obsolete updates should vanish on their own in a few days. You can ignore it.<\/p>\n<h2>Resolution<\/h2>\n<p>To clear the obsolete updates from the Windows Updates page in Settings, try one of these options:<\/p>\n<h3>Option 1: Clear the Qmgr cache files<\/h3>\n<p>Clear the Qmgr cache files by running the following commands from admin PowerShell:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"powershell\">Get-Service -Name wuauserv,bits,cryptsvc | Stop-Service<\/pre>\n<pre class=\"powershell\">Remove-Item -Path \"$env:ALLUSERSPROFILE\\Application Data\\Microsoft\\Network\\Downloader\\qmgr*.dat\"<\/pre>\n<pre class=\"powershell\">Rename-Item $env:systemroot\\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.bak<\/pre>\n<h3>Option 2: Attempt to install the updates and let them fail<\/h3>\n<p>If that doesn&#8217;t help,\u00a0try to install the updates by clicking &#8220;Install Updates&#8221; and let them fail.
