The usual way is to right-click on the file, click Send To, and click Mail Recipient. This attaches the file to the compose window in your mail client.<\/p>\n<p>How about saving bandwidth on your local network by sending the target path of documents (in a network share) instead of attaching them to mail?<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Send to Mail Recipient (as Path)<\/h2>\n<p>For this purpose, I wrote a script that adds the <b>Mail Recipient (as Path)<\/b> option to the Send To menu, which, when clicked, opens the compose mail window and adds the target location of selected files and folders to the Body.<\/p>\n<p><script src='https:\/\/gist.github.com\/ecb0f925245be4fe0cf93cbf28047569.js'><\/script><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Download <code>SendLinkToMail.vbs<\/code> above or copy the above code to Notepad and save it with a .vbs extension.<\/li>\n<li>Double-click <code>sendlinktomail.vbs<\/code> to run it.<\/li>\n<li>When you see the &#8220;Configuring&#8230;&#8221; prompt, press Enter:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The <b>Mail Recipient (as Path)<\/b> is now added to the Send To menu.<\/p>\n<p>Open the network location which contains files you want to email (as Path).<\/p>\n<p>Select the files, right-click on the selection, click &#8220;Send to&#8221;, and select &#8220;Mail Recipient (as Path).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24155\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/network-email-file-path.png\" alt=\"email file path context menu\" width=\"751\" height=\"464\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This opens the new message window in your email client (e.g., Outlook) with the Subject and Body fields populated.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24156\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/outlook-message-email-file-path.png\" alt=\"email file path context menu\" width=\"711\" height=\"412\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Customization<\/h3>\n<p>To change the default Subject line and <code>To:<\/code> address, edit the script using Notepad and modify the variables in Line numbers <code>28<\/code> and <code>29<\/code>.<\/p>\n<p>For example:<\/p>\n<pre>strRecipientEMail = \"somename@mydomain.com\"<\/pre>\n<pre>strMailSubject = \"Training Documents\"<\/pre>\n<h3>Undo Information<\/h3>\n<p>To remove the <b>Mail Recipient (as Path)<\/b> option from the Send To menu, re-run the script, type <b>UNINSTALL<\/b> and press ENTER.
