This post tells you some of the ways to find your IP Address, both the local IP assigned by your router or ICS\/DHCP server running in your network, as well as your external or public IP address.<\/p>\n

IPCONFIG Command<\/h3>\n

Open a Command Prompt window, type ipconfig \/all<\/code> and press ENTER<\/kbd><\/p>\n

Network Connections – Control Panel<\/h3>\n

Press WinKey<\/kbd> + R<\/kbd>, type ncpa.cpl<\/code> and press ENTER<\/kbd><\/p>\n

Double click the network connection to open Properties. Click Details<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This shows the IP address assigned for that network connection.<\/p>\n

Settings Page<\/h3>\n

Click Start → Settings → Network and Internet.<\/p>\n

Click Ethernet or WiFi whichever one you’re using.<\/p>\n

Click the adapter listed in the right-side.<\/p>\n

Task Manager<\/h3>\n

Open Task Manager (Ctrl<\/kbd> + Shift<\/kbd> + Esc<\/kbd>), select Performance tab and click Ethernet.<\/p>\n

Public IP Address<\/h2>\n

A public IP address is an external IP provided by your ISP. It may either be a Static IP or Dynamic IP allocated automatically. Checking your router admin page would tell you the external IP you’ve been assigned. If you’re behind a router or NAT device, here are the methods to find your public\/external IP address, other than logging in to your router.<\/p>\n

Using Google search<\/strong><\/p>\n

Google what is my ip<\/strong> to find out your external or Public IP.<\/p>\n

Using the Nslookup command<\/strong><\/p>\n

Open a Command Prompt window and type the following:<\/p>\n

Run these two commands:<\/p>\n

Copy the files to Notepad, and save the file as find-external-ip.vbs<\/code><\/p>\n
