Microsoft seems to have dropped support for MJPEG or H264 encoding standards and moved towards YUY2 for performance. Webcams that use MJPEG or H264 would not work correctly after the Anniversary Update.<\/p>\n<h2>Fix for Webcam issues in Windows 10<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WithinRafael\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rafael Rivera<\/a> has found a workaround for this issue. Follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Create a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/create-restore-protection-point-rollback-windows\/\">Restore Point<\/a> first.<\/li>\n<li>Start Regedit.exe and go to the following key:\n<pre>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows Media Foundation\\Platform<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Create a REG_DWORD value named <strong>EnableFrameServerMode<\/strong> and leave the data to <code>0<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>If you&#8217;re using Windows 64-bit, make the changes here, in addition:\n<pre>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\WOW6432Node\\Microsoft\\Windows Media Foundation\\Platform<\/pre>\n<p>The above key is for 32-bit applications running on a Windows 64-bit computer.<\/li>\n<li>Exit the Registry Editor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"qt\">\n<h3>Realtek drivers specific issue<\/h3>\n<p>The following error may be logged in the System Event Log repeatedly:<\/p>\n<pre>Service Control Manager - The Windows Camera Frame Server service terminated unexpectedly.
