If the User Accounts Settings page closes abruptly when trying to create a new user account or when switching your local user account to Microsoft account, here is a couple of PowerShell commands to fix the problem.<\/p>\n

The above screen may show up for a couple of seconds and close abruptly without showing an error. As a result, you’re unable to create a new user via the user interface.<\/p>\n

Reinstall User Accounts Settings Panel<\/h2>\n

Start PowerShell.exe and run the following command, exactly as given:<\/p>\n

Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.AccountsControl | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register \"$($_.InstallLocation)\\AppXManifest.xml\"}<\/pre>\n
And then run this command:<\/p>\n
Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.CloudExperienceHost | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register \"$($_.InstallLocation)\\AppXManifest.xml\"}<\/pre>\n
This reinstalls the package for User Accounts Settings page.<\/p>\n
