Here is how to do that.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Put Windows to Sleep<\/h2>\n<h3>Using NirCmd<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nirsoft.net\/utils\/nircmd.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NirCmd<\/a> is multi-purpose tool from Nirsoft, that can be used to automate many complicated system management tasks using shortcut or command-line. To put your computer to sleep mode, create a shortcut with the following target:<\/p>\n<pre>nircmd standby<\/pre>\n<h3>Using PsShutdown<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/sysinternals\/psshutdown.aspx?f=255&amp;MSPPError=-2147217396\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PsShutdown<\/a> is part of the PsTools suite from Microsoft Windows SysInternals which every sysadmin would have in their toolkit. Here is the command-line to place the system into sleep mode.<\/p>\n<pre>psshutdown -d<\/pre>\n<p>When you use this tool for the first time, you&#8217;ll see a EULA screen which you need to accept to proceed.<\/p>\n<h3>Using Wizmo<\/h3>\n<p>Using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grc.com\/wizmo\/wizmo.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wizmo<\/a>, here is the command-line:<\/p>\n<pre>wizmo standby<\/pre>\n<h2>Put Windows to Hibernate<\/h2>\n<p>Here are the options to put the system into hibernate mode.
