Here&#8217;s the full error message text:<!--more--><\/p>\n<pre class=\"err\">Windows could not start the Client License Service (ClipSVC) service on Local Computer.\r\n\r\nError 126: The specified module could not be found.<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-33725\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/clipsvc-error-126.png\" alt=\"clipsvc error 126\" width=\"405\" height=\"169\" \/><\/p>\n<p>ClipSVC provides infrastructure support for the Microsoft Store. This service is started on demand, and if disabled, applications bought using Windows Store will not behave correctly. You may be unable to install <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/cant-run-appx-appxbundle-msixbundle\/\">Appx and Msixbundle<\/a> packages if ClipSVC fails to start. Doing so results in the following error message:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"err\">App installation failed with error message: error 0xC0020036: windows.licensing failed to start ClipSvc. Try again and contact the package publisher if the problem persists.\r\n(0xc0020036)<\/pre>\n<h2>Cause<\/h2>\n<p>ClipSVC error 126 occurs if the ServiceDLL registry value points to a non-existent file. It&#8217;s most likely caused by malware which sets the ServiceDLL to <strong>%SystemRoot%\\System32\\ClipSVC.dlla<\/strong> instead of <strong>%SystemRoot%\\System32\\ClipSVC.dll<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Resolution<\/h2>\n<p>To fix the ClipSVC error 126, download <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/clipsvc.zip\">clipsvc.reg<\/a> and run it.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, make sure that the file &#8220;C:\\Windows\\System32\\ClipSVC.dll&#8221; exists on the computer. If it&#8217;s missing, you&#8217;ll need to run the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winhelponline.com\/blog\/repair-windows-10-using-dism-sfc\/\">System File Checker<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Restart Windows for the
